CBS has renewed "The Good Wife" and "NCIS: Cool J," while TNT is going ahead with a second season for "Men of a Certain Age."

While CBS's renewals were expected -- particularly for its "NCIS" spinoff, which had already been sold into syndication-- a second season for "Men" was anything but a slam-dunk. After a strong debut, ratings for the Ray Romano have dropped notably.

Nonetheless, "Men" has garnered generally great reviews and has overall good buzz. Turner programming chief Michael Wright called the "decision to renew an easy one."

CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler (who used to work with Wright when both were at CBS) also had nice things to say about her two renewed freshmen.

"We're proud of these shows and what they've accomplished on Tuesday night," the Tass said.

TNT has ordered 10 episodes of "Men" for season two. As for the CBS shows, networks typically guarantee 13 episodes for second season pickups.
