Carole King Hits D.C. for Gershwin Salute

Washington is truly feeling the earth move this week as singer-songwriter Carole King is honored with the Library of Congress’s Gershwin Prize for popular song and then saluted in two concerts, one in the White House.

King is becoming the first female songwriter to win the prize, which was won by Stevie Wonder in 2009, Paul McCartney in 2010, and the songwriting team of Burt Bacharach and Hal David in 2012.

Universal's 'Endless Love' Remake Romancing the Box Office on Valentine's Day

"Endless Love," a romantic drama starring Alex Pettyfer and Gabriella Wilde, will be released in theaters on Feb. 14, 2014, Universal announced on Tuesday.

Shana Feste ("Country Strong") is directing the remake, which explores the relationship between a privileged girl (Wilde) and a charismatic boy (Pettyfer) whose instant desire sparks a love affair made only more reckless by parents trying to keep them apart.

'Nashville' Crew Member's Wife Accuses Show of Mistreatment

The wife of a "Nashville" crew member who wasn't invited back for the show's second season is taking the very unusual step of criticizing the studios behind the ABC drama for "endless and exhausting shoot days" and not thanking her husband for his hard work.

In a post on her personal blog that was later picked up by news outlets, Micaela Bensko, wife of production supervisor Don Bensko, said the television industry should limit production hours to protect employees. She claimed one "Nashville" crew member nearly died from falling 20 feet after a string of 14-to-19-hour work days.

Oklahoma Tornado Special Coverage: 'The Voice' Sets Tribute, Networks Beef Up News Programming

Coverage of Tornado-ravaged Oklahoma has the broadcast networks moving their schedules and beefing up their news coverage.

NBC has decided to preempt its one-hour "The Voice" recap show at 8 p.m. ET for a live special hosted by Brian Williams. It will air concurrently on NBC, MSNBC and the Weather Channel.

The live "The Voice" results show will air as planned at 9 p.m./8c. It will include a special tribute to Tornado victims from coach and Oklahoma native Blake Shelton and his wife Miranda Lambert. NBC is keeping the song title under wraps. They have been working on the performance since Monday and it's currently scheduled for the top of the hour.

TLC has picked up the former NBC documentary series for eight new one-hour episodes set to premiere on July 23. Production is already underway.

Fugitives, beware. "Dog and Beth" fans, rejoice!

CMT has ordered 11 more episodes of bounty hungers "Dog," Beth and Leland Chapman's new series bringing its Season 1 order to 22 episodes. Production on the back 11 episodes will begin immediately.

“We knew Dog and Beth would shake up the programming landscape at CMT and they’ve done just that, more than doubling our quarter-to-date prime average,” said CMT's executive vice president Jayson Dinsmore in a statement on Tuesday.
