Kat Von D and Jesse James are engaged. Can you think of a more perfectly suited couple than the 28-year old queen of TLC's "L.A. Ink" and the 41-year old chopper building former host of Spike TV's "Jesse James Is A Dead Man" It's a marriage-to-be made in cable ... and the tabloids
Of course, less than a year ago, Jesse seemed to only have eyes for his soon-to-be Oscar winning wife of almost five years Sandra Bullock
Bullock and James seemed a true case of opposites attracting. The West Coast Choppers CEO gave one of America's most beloved actress a bit of an edge and Sandy gave Jesse ... well, a much bigger spotlight that he had before.
Before Sandra Bullock - his third wife - James had been married to porn star Janine Lindemulder, but settling down with non-skin flick star Sandy seemed to temper his formerly wild ways.
Or not -- as the world discovered when it came out, just after Bullock won the Best Actress Oscar for "The Blind Side" and thanked her husband from the stage profusely for having her back, that Jesse had been having an affair with the very untame Michelle "Bombshell" McGree. Soon after Jesse and Sandra split and, as America's Sweetheart went into hiding, got divorced.
McGree, on the other hand, continued her spree of would-be bad boys. Most recently, the tattooed model was reported to have one of the many beauties in and out of the hard partying Vegas suite of Charlie Sheen. The "Two and a Half Men" star, pictured here with Drew Carey in Sin City on Jan. 16, has never made any secret of his love of the ladies, the wilder the better so it seems.
Not that Charlie Sheen, pictured here on a visit to NYC in late Oct. 2010, with ex-wife Denise Richards and the couple's daughters, doesn't believe in family time too -- as long as he can also have a meltdown later than night in his Plaza Hotel, as Denise and the girls slept in a suite of their own down the hall, suite with porn star Capri Anderson cowering in the bathroom and the cops being called.
Now what does this all have to do with Kat Von D? Well, the tattoo queen and 39-year old Denise Richards, who may not have had the year of infamy that her ex-husband has but is no stranger to the wild side herself,are buddies
Her recent relationship with Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx, who actually wrote a song called "Wilde Side," is just one example of the many bad bad boys the former "Bond" girl has spent quality time with.
Kat, proving that friends often have the same taste, for better or worse, also dated 52-year old Nikki for a while ... you certainly have to admire a couple that can share each other's wardrobe so seamlessly, and yet, it just didn't work out for Kat and Nikki - though maybe the heavy metal icon will hook up with Lindsay Lohan now she's out of rehab and looking for a different kind of Dr. Feelgood.
Not that any of that matters now that Jesse and Kat, who really does look like the goth happy medium between Sandra Bullock and Michelle McGree, have found true love and are going to the alter. Of course, in the Hollywood circles the duo travel and love in, don't be too surprised to find could find them battling it out in court over who gets the leather jackets, the studded belts and the sterilizing kit within a year or two. Just sayin'
