Twitter Executives Create New #Angels Investment Fund

Half-dozen current and former Twitter execs form fund to invest in tech startups

Current and former Twitter honchos are creating an outside investment fund dubbed #Angels.

The group is looking to back interesting tech startups, Re/code reported.

Some of the investors include Jana Messerschmidt, Jessica Verrilli, Katie Stanton, Vijaya Gadde, April Underwood and Chloe Sladden.

Together, they plan to leverage their social media experience to help build their chosen startups. The members of the fund insist it isn’t a fund — each member will invest individually, according to a blog post:

“We’re collaborating together but will be making individual angel investments, not forming a fund. And, as many of us are still actively operating at Twitter (and will continue to be), we will not be investing in companies that could create a conflict of interest from a competitive or potential acquisition point of view.”

The investors come from diverse backgrounds including product development, partnerships, fundraising, acquisitions, internationalization, platforms, media and corporate governance.
