Typically Trump-Friendly ‘Fox and Friends’ Questions President’s Twitter Habits

“When the president’s furious and tweets, it seems to make your job harder,” Brian Kilmeade tells Trump’s lawyer

President Donald Trump’s lawyer Jay Sekulow got a surprise on Monday’s “Fox & Friends” when the usually Trump-friendly program peppered their guest with questions about the president’s tweets.

Trump regularly praises the Fox News morning show on Twitter but that didn’t stop co-host Brian Kilmeade from challenging the president’s Twitter usage.

“When the president’s furious and tweets, it seems to make your job harder,” Kilmeade said. “Will he say I’m no longer talking about the Russia investigation?”

Sekulow said Trump is savvy on Twitter and reaches over 100 million people whenever he wants to get a message across on social media.

“Look, I’m a lawyer. I don’t tell him what to write or not write,” Sekulow said.

“But why wouldn’t you, Jay?” Kilmeade said. “You’re his lawyer. You should be telling him. Every client should get legal advice when so much is on the line.”

Sekulow said that Trump’s successful use of social media will be “studied” decades from now.

“It will be in the history books,” Sekulow said.

President Trump’s Twitter account was a hot topic on cable news morning shows Monday, as MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” spent a segment ranking the president’s most “self-destructive” tweets.
