“Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” star Ellie Kemper made a surprise announcement on “The Tonight Show” Wednesday night — she’s pregnant!
Kemper and her husband, Michael Koman, are expecting their first child. The timing couldn’t be better, as Season 2 of “Kimmy Schmidt” is set to debut on Friday.
Fallon congratulated Kemper and gifted her with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s Tonight Dough ice cream, which Kemper admitted is her favorite.
Kemper also said that the pregnancy did not affect filming of her Netflix series until the very end, as one scene required her to go on a roller coaster. So she decided to tell people she had a back injury instead.
“I could not act like I had a back injury,” Kemper said. “I’m a bad liar. I kept forgetting I had one, so I would do things someone with a back injury can’t do. They’d yell, ‘lunch,’ and I’d leap up and cartwheel to catering.”
