Ratings: ‘Undercover Boss’ Returns to Win Wednesday

“Empire” is off, “Undercover Boss” is back — that means CBS won Wednesday.

ABC was runner-up throughout primetime, which was heavy on the reruns as we approach the Christmas holiday.

CBS was first in ratings with a 1.0 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 5.7 million, according to preliminary numbers. The “Undercover Boss” season premiere at 8 p.m. posted a 1.1/4 and 5.9 million viewers. A second episode at 9 had a 1.0/4 and 5.3 million viewers. “Code Black” at 10 got a 0.9/3 and 5.9 million viewers.

ABC was second in ratings with a 0.8/3 and in viewers with 3.33 million. Following reruns, “Game Changers With Robin Roberts” at 10 received a 0.6/2 and 2.7 million viewers.

NBC and Fox tied for third in ratings, both with a 0.7/3. NBC was third in total viewers with 3.27 million, airing all encores; Fox was fourth with 3.21 million, also running just repeats.

Univision and Telemundo tied for fifth in ratings, both with a 1.2/4. Univision was fifth in total viewers with 1.7 million, Telemundo was sixth with 1.4 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 732,000. “Terry Crews Saves Christmas” at 8 managed a 0.3/1 and 828,000 viewers.
