Universal and Viggo Mortensen are in negotiations for the action-adventure film "Snow White and the Huntsman," TheWrap has confirmed.
The movie, based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, focuses on the Huntsman, a character who is supposed to kill Snow White, but ends up protecting her. The "A History of Violence' and "Lord of the Rings" star is talking to the studio about playing the role of the Huntsman.
The studio confirmed that Charlize Theron is negotiating for the role of the evil queen.
The film has a scheduled release date of Dec. 21, 2012.
Rupert Sanders is directing the film, written by Evan Daugherty.
