Univision Communications, the leading media company serving Hispanic America, announced a fourth-quarter revenue increase of 3.6 percent on Thursday.
Revenues were $696.2 million for the final quarter of 2013, up from $671.7 million in 2012. Net income in Q4 was $172.2 million, versus last year’s negative balance of ($27 million).
During the fourth quarter of 2013, Univision ranked as the fifth most-watched network in primetime, regardless of language, in the advertiser-coveted Adults 18-49 demographic.
Randy Falco, president and chief executive officer of Univision, said in the earnings release: “The fourth quarter capped off another year of revenue growth, positive momentum and transformation for Univision Communications. Our multiplatform expansion was in full focus in the fourth quarter with the official launches of Fusion and El Rey, the social media launch of Flama and the impressive performance of Univision Deportes, which finished 2013 as the fastest-growing cable network in any language in both total day and primetime.”
