UTA Hires Alternative TV Agent Seth Lawrence

Veteran agent previously served as senior vice president of Rebel Entertainment Partners

Seth Lawrence is joining UTA’s alternative television department, the agency announced Monday.

Lawrence comes to UTA after 13 years as an agent in the alternative television department of Rebel Entertainment Partners, where he was most recently senior vice president and helped to manage a department of eight agents.

At UTA, he will join the department run by agency partner Brett Hansen where he will focus on representing non-scripted showrunners, producers, directors, and production companies as well as on-camera talent.

“Seth is a great agent with a keen instinct for talent in all forms, and we know he will be a great addition to our Alternative TV team,” Hansen said.

At Rebel, Lawrence packaged or co-packaged such series as Bravo’s “Untying The Knot,” which begins its second season on Nov. 8th. He also worked on Animal Planet’s new series “The Last Alaskans” and “My Child Sees Dead People” on Destination America.

Lawrence’s clients include showrunners and executive producers Sean Rankine and Mark G. Seliga of VH1’s “Basketball Wives,” along with their new production company Devil Cat Media and the series’ post EP, Amanda Scott.

Additional clients include Paul Casey, the director of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher; Roberto Cardenas’ 90 Miles Productions, which producers NatGeo’s “Building Wild” and “Die Trying;” and Mandt Bros Productions, creators of SyFy’s “Destination Truth” and the producers on the Disney movie “Million Dollar Arm.”
