Veteran publicists Ken Sunshine and Shawn Sachs are launching Madica Productions, a sister company to their powerhouse PR firm Sunshine Sachs that aims to be a full-service development and production company.
Madica will develop content for film, TV and digital platforms, with a slate that will include non-scripted and digital content stemming from the firm's diverse lineup of clients.
Jeff Tahler will serve as managing director of Madica. He previously spent six years as senior VP of acquisitions and development for FremantleMedia's global content division, where he oversaw the creation of reality programs such as "Project Runway" and "The Apprentice," as well as TBS' scripted series "The Wedding Band."
Prior to FremantleMedia, Tahler worked at Miramax for eight years as VP of acquisitions.
Madica has already started developing three untitled projects, including a mid-budget feature film, and Sachs hopes the company will offer a new avenue for both clients and non-clients to tell entertaining stories and create other cutting-edge content.
Sunshine and Sachs represent A-list clients such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck, Natalie Portman and Tyler Perry, among others.
