Warner Bros. Creates First ‘Social Series’ for Facebook

“Aim High” is an action comedy that will begin October 18

Warner Bros will release “Aim High,” which it has dubbed Hollywood’s first “social series,” October 18 on Facebook.

The action comedy series, starring Jackson Rathbone of “Twilight” and Aimee Teegarden of “Friday Night Lights,” will allow users to integrate themselves into the show.

When viewers add the application on the show’s Facebook page, they hand over their profile information, which can make it into the series in the form of their photo being on a poster or their name in graffiti.

“Facebook is an increasingly influential destination for discovering and acquiring movie and television content,” Thomas Gewecke, President of Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, said in a statement.  “This effort takes video distribution to a whole new level by making the actual viewing experience personal and social in a truly innovative and entertaining way.”

The series also has a second, more common social element, which allows for a communal viewing experience. Viewers can share comments, scenes and tweets about the show when they are using the application and its personalized viewing mode.

"Aim High" was written and created by Heath Corson and Richie Keen, directed by Thor Freudenthal and and produced by Lance Sloane and McG.
