Washington Times to Slash 40% of Staff

The newspaper also indicated it may limit or eliminate home-delivery.

Washington may still be a two-newspaper town, but The Washington Times is cutting way back.
The paper founded by the Rev. Sun Myung Moon announced Wednesday a big reduction of its 370-person staff, a cutback politico.com is reporting could be as much as 40 percent of its staff.
The Washington Times has recently been going through major shakeups, with top editors leaving.
In a statement today, the paper said it would “refocus its position as a provider of vital information and insight to readers in the nation’s capital, across the country and around the world.” The statement indicated the paper will cut back or eliminate home delivery.
"We have developed plans to secure our position and advance our vital role in an evolving media marketplace and through challenging economic times,"  said President-Publisher Jonathan Slevin. "A new Washington Times will continue to reach readers and more effectively earn new audiences via digital, broadcast, print and wireless media."
