Bobby Brown breaks down while talking about the death of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, in a preview of his “20/20” interview with Robin Roberts.

“The hardest thing I had to do in my life was to tell my daughter to let go,” Brown says as he bursts into tears during the interview, which airs Tuesday. “My baby’s gone.”

“I thank God I’m still here,” he continues.

The singer’s appearance comes ahead of the release of his memoir, “Every Little Step.” The clip shows that the interview will also cover his marriage to the late singer Whitney Houston.

Bobbi Kristina died last July at age 22, six months after being found face-down and unresponsive in the bathtub of her Georgia home on Jan. 31, 2015.

Before her death, Brown, Pat Houston, Pat’s brother Ray Watson and her sister-in-law Donna Houston, Gary Houston, conservator Bedelia C. Hargrove and other family members joined together in prayer at the Atlanta, Georgia, hospice where she had been moved. They then sang hymns together following the 22-year-old’s death.

The autopsy report released in March revealed that Bobbi Kristina died of lobar pneumonia, the result of brain damage due to oxygen loss from water immersion and “mixed drug intoxication.”
