(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you haven’t watched last Sunday’s premiere of “Game of Thrones”)
Even Jimmy Fallon is firmly on the “Game of Thrones” bandwagon — or is that a horse-drawn cart?
The late-night host went into his suggestion box on Wednesday and pulled out a (faux) letter from a viewer who had missed Sunday’s Season 6 premiere and asked Fallon for help catching up.
“I saw it and it was great. But I don’t think I could break it down in under a minute,” Fallon responded.
“Fortunately, I think I know someone who can,” he added, handing the reins over to the Roots bandleader, Tariq, who the delivered the best rap you have ever heard about the HBO fantasy hit.
From Jon Snow’s frozen body and the magical Red Priestess Melisandre, to Theon Greyjoy and Sansa Stark’s daring escape from Ramsay Bolton, he rapped an impressive recap without pausing for breath or butchering a character name.
But the drop-the-mic moment came while Tariq described the final shocking scene: “Hickey, hickey, hickey, she’s old as a mother …”
“The Tonight Show” airs at 11:35/10:35c on NBC.
