Jimmy Kimmel has taken the time-honored holiday tradition of “Elf on a Shelf” and turned it on its head with the scary alternative “Trump on a Stump,” a musical rendering of our president-elect designed to “watch over your kids and make sure they behave.”
“The elf watches your kids and reports back to Santa. But it’s been around for a while now and I worry that it’s starting to lose its gravitas,” the host said on Friday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
“I’ve noticed the kids, they’re not so worried about it anymore. They don’t fear the elf anymore. So this year we came up with a new product that I hope will make your kids behave bigly.”
So Kimmel showed a fake ad for the alternative, a “musical rendering of our president-elect sitting on a faux wooden tree stump,” the ad explained.
“‘Trump on a Stump’ doesn’t report to Santa — he reports directly to the Pentagon through built-in cameras and hidden microphones inside his head. So when your child misbehaves, special analysts alert border patrol, who immediately have him deported.”
Kimmel has reveled in making Trump the butt of jokes, as have most late nite hosts. Among his most popular pokes mocking the president-elect is “Best of #DrunkDonaldTrump.”
