Newtown School Shootings: Piers Morgan Takes Down Gun Lobbyists on Gun Control (Video)

CNN host Piers Morgan delivered an angry lecture to his pro-gun guests

CNN host Piers Morgan delivered an angry lecture to his pro-gun guests in an emotional segment about gun control on Friday, the day that 28 lives were lost during a shooting spree in Newtown, Connecticut.

Morgan had invited two pro-gun guests and two in favor of gun control to debate the politically sensitive issue. But he ended up on a tear against what he called the “madness” of American gun laws and the “nonsense” that gun lobbyists advocate.

The guests on either side of the issue could barely get a word in, Morgan was so angry.

“Why would you want more guns in schools?” he asked of Steve Dulan, from the Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners.

Dulan had barely finished his response about how more guns are needed to protect the public, when Morgan let loose with a lecture.

“How many more kids have to die?” he asked. “We need less guns, not more…. The gun laws you’re pushing have killed people.

He went on, steam-rolling another gun advocate, John Lott: “I’ve been debating this all week. Months, if not two years. I’m so frustrated, so furious, that these kids have been blown away again with legally acquired weapons. Some boy who's got problems takes his mother's three weapons — including this ridiculous assault rifle — and goes in a school and kills these kids, and you guys on the gun lobby still want to tell me the answer is more guns. It is madness!"
