The latest entry into the Denzel Washington canon of assault and battery
(Editor's note: The trailer above is the international trailer and not the first “official” trailer for the film.)
Denzel Washington has perfected the solemn soldier (“Man on Fire”) and the boisterous braggadocio (“2 Guns”). He plays the cop and the criminal with equal verve, and he is always at his best when unfettered by “rules” or “morals.” He is a classic action hero with a leading man's acting ability.

Washington is all of those things at once in his new movie “The Equalizer,” due out this fall. He is a retired intelligence officer (kind of like “Man on Fire”) and a vigilante (kind of like every Denzel movie). He helps a distressed young woman (Chloe Grace Moretz), killing dozens in the process.
“The Equalizer” is the latest entry into the Denzel Washington canon of assault and battery.
Sony is so confident in the movie that it has commissioned writer Richard Wenk to start on a second.
