Bradley Whitford to Guest on ‘Shameless’

"West Wing," "Studio 60"  veteran joins ensemble for Season 3

Bradley Whitford is about to get "Shameless."

Whitford, the Emmy-winning veteran of "The West Wing" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," will guest star on the Showtime series during its upcoming third season, the cable network said Tuesday.

Whitford will play Abraham, a "powerful, well-dressed, sophisticated gay man who is a political activist," according to Showtime.

The third season of "Shameless," which premieres Jan. 13 at 9 p.m., will pick up five months after the finale of the last season, with each member of the Gallagher family pursuing his or her own version of the American Dream.
