A (badly) defeated mixed martial artist, a lip-syncing diva and the latest bachelor had viewers frothing at the fingertips on social media over the past week.

TheWrap has partnered with Canvs, a language analytics company that measures emotions around content, for a weekly look at the characters and personalities that have TV viewers the most worked up. The data below covers Dec. 28-Jan. 3 and is drawn from the most emotionally reacted-to television shows, including broadcast, cable, streaming and PPV.

Of the 189,778 Emotional Reactions (ERs) surrounding the Dec. 30 UFC fight between Amanda Nunes and Ronda Rousey on pay-per-view, 37.5 percent mentioned Rousey (vs. 9.6 percent for Nunes). The mixed martial artist returned to the ring to battle bantamweight champion Nunes in a fight that was over insanely fast (48 seconds!), with Nunes emerging victorious.

Of the 164,066 ERs surrounding “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” on ABC, 50.9 percent mentioned Mariah Carey, who suffered a production snafu that turned her performance into an instantly legendary trainwreck. Viewers reacted with a mixture of horror, amusement and gallow humor at the spectacle.

Of the 80,969 ERs surrounding Monday’s episode of “The Bachelor” on ABC, 12 percent mentioned Nick Viall, this season’s lucky leading guy. While many viewers fawned over him, with more than a few noting how hot he is. Others weren’t as psyched to see him handing out roses this season.
