‘Wilfred’ Renewed for Fourth and Last Season

Every dog has his day, and Wilfred’s draws to a close

The Eljiah Wood talking dog comedy “Wilfred” will move to FXX for its fourth and final season.

The final 10 episodes will air in 2014. The series, which previously aired on FX, stars Wood as Ryan, who is the only person who can talk with his neighbor’s surly canine companion, played by Jason Gann.

The show also stars include Fiona Gubelmann as Jenna, Ryan’s beautiful neighbor and Wilfred’s owner, and Dorian Brown as Kristen, Ryan’s sister.

The show is based on the Australian series of the same name, and was first adapted for FX by David Zuckerman (“Family Guy,” “King of the Hill”).

Zuckerman executive produces with Gann, Reed Agnew and Eli Jorné, Rich Frank and Jeff Kwatinetz of Prospect Park, Randall Einhorn, and Joe Connor and Ken Connor of Renegade, producers of the Australian version of the series. Einhorn directs.

“Wilfred” is produced by FX Productions.
