An “X-Men: Days of Future Past” clip presented at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday showed a battle against the Sentinels in the future, but the third and final trailer teases how it will begin in the past.
The preview (above) for Bryan Singer‘s return to the franchise focuses on Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) bridging the gap between the mutants he knows in the future and their younger selves that he’s rounding up in the ’60s in order to prevent the rise of the machines created by a mutant-hating man named Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage).
When Wolverine arrives back in time, it appears Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) is a drunk, Magneto (Michael Fassbender) is imprisoned underneath the Pentagon, Beast (Nicholas Hoult) is still embarrassed he’s a Wolf Man and Quicksilver (Evan Peters) is an escape artist.
