The actor most recently starred in Fox's drama "The Mob Doctor," which Fox decided not to order more episodes of last year.

The "Hatfields & McCoys" pilot, which is being executive produced by Charlize Theron, among others, re-sets the legendary family feud in modern-day Pittsburgh, when a startling death re-ignites the quarrel between the blue-collar McCoys and the wealthy, powerful Hatfields.

Soffer joins a cast that also includes "Sideways" actress Virginia Madsen, as Eloise McCoy.

Soffer's casting was first reported by Deadline.
