Twentieth Century Fox announced Thursday that the X-Men film “Gambit” will be released Feb. 14, 2019.

The film will see Channing Tatum play the titular card-throwing, staff-wielding Cajun mutant, with Gore Verbinski directing from a script by Josh Zetumer. Tatum is producing with Reid Carolin, Simon Kinberg, and Lauren Shuler Donner.

That weekend, “Gambit” will go up against “Isn’t It Romantic,” a comedy from Warner Bros. and New Line starring Rebel Wilson and Liam Hemsworth, and an untitled film from Universal and Blumhouse.

Universal had set “Bride of Frankenstein,” the next installment in their “Dark Universe” series, in this release slot. But last week, the studio removed that film from their slate and replaced it with a Blumhouse placeholder.

Fox also announced Thursday that Chris Sanders’ “The Call of the Wild” will be released Christmas Day 2019, while the film “Ron’s Gone Wrong” will be released Nov. 6, 2020.
