Quality music videos are an endangered species these days, but in recent months several artists– most notably M.I.A. and Lady Gaga, have released big budget event videos reminiscent of the days when MTV wasn’t primarily in the reality television business.
Rock band Broken Bells is the latest act to get in on the trend with a dramatic sci-fi video featuring "Mad Men" star Christina Hendricks.
Released on Wednesday, the video for the Bells song "The Ghost Inside" stars Hendricks, who in this writer’s opinion is one of the hottest women on the planet, as an android involved in a harrowing spaceship crash.
Broken Bells is a collaboration between the producer Danger Mouse and Shins lead singer James Mercer. Like many red-blooded American males, the duo are big fans of Hendricks and asked her to appear in their video.
