Yahoo to Launch ‘#HashOut’ Social Talk Show

Yahoo enlisted Anna Holmes, Maria Shriver, Anne-Marie Slaughter and others for the interactive talk show

Yahoo unveiled plans for an upcoming web-streamed talk show Monday that will feature a high profile cast of panelists.

Dubbed "#HashOut," the program — which bills itself as the first talk show to be conducted over social media — will go live later this month, according to its homepage.

The cast of panelists, as pictured on the site, includes Jezebel founder Anna Holmes, journalist and author and journalist Maria Shriver, Princeton professor Anne-Marie Slaughter and "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof, among others.

Yahoo, responding to request from TheWrap for comment, said more information would be available Tuesday.

The show is launching online at a time when traditional broadcasters have sought to increase viewer engagement by integrating social media into their programs.

The corner of the television screen is often watermarked with relevant hashtags, and television executives are working to catch up to the so-called "second screen," keeping easily distracted viewers glued to their programming rather than their friends' latest Facebook statuses.
