Zach Galifianakis Puts ‘Today’s’ Matt Lauer on Hot Seat Over His Image Problem (Video)

The "Hangover Part III" star raised the anchor's eyebrows with an unexpected question

Matt Lauer was reminded of his declining popularity on Thursday's "Today Show" when Zach Galifianakis asked if he needed an intervention.

Galifianakis turned the tables on Lauer during a discussion about his character Alan's intervention in "The Hangover Part III."

"Have you ever been part of a real-life intervention?" Lauer asked.

 "Not yet… do you need one?" Galifianakis responded.

"There's different schools of thought on that," Lauer said with a laugh.

As of late, Lauer's been making plenty of effort to laugh off the public backlash against him stemming from Ann Curry's ousting from the show last June. In April, the television personality joked he's less popular than polio, and earlier this month appeared on "The Tonight Show" to talk about his publicity problems.
