Zeitgeist Films Buys U.S. Rights to Telluride Documentary ‘The Galapagos Affair’

A spring 2014 theatrical release is planned for the murder-mystery documentary

Zeitgeist Films has acquired U.S. rights to "The Galapagos Affair: Satan Came to Eden," the murder-mystery documentary from producer/director Dayna Goldfine, in a pre-emptive pickup ahead of the Telluride Film Festival.

Set in the Galapagos Islands in the 1930s, the film tells the story of a few pioneers who settled on the remote island seeking their own version of Eden – but whose intertwined lives became tabloid fodder.

The film features new vintage home-movie footage and voice performances from Cate Blanchett, Diane Kruger, Connie Nielsen and more.

A theatrical release is planned for New York and Los Angeles next spring, with a national rollout to follow. Zeitgeist co-presidents Nancy Gerstman and Emily Russo negotiated the deal.
