Zendaya Confirms ‘Spider-Man’ Reboot Role (Video)

“I can’t say anything else other than I’m going to be in it,” Disney star tells Ellen DeGeneres

Well, the spider is finally out of the bag.

Zendaya has confirmed to Ellen DeGeneres that she will be appearing in Sony’s upcoming “Spider-Man” reboot.

In a clip from Wednesday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” the host shared the Disney star’s good news — but neither of them could reveal any more details on the breakout big-screen role.

“I can’t say anything else other than I’m going to be in it,” Zendaya said, looking uncomfortable when quizzed on what part she was playing.

When asked by Ellen when she starts filming, the 19-year-old said: “I have no idea … to be completely honest.

“But it’s very exciting, when it comes to the acting space, I am basically unknown. I’ve never been in a real movie before or anything like that, so I had to start from the bottom like anyone else,” Zendaya continued.

“I auditioned and auditioned and auditioned and [broke] down those walls because a lot of people do have that preconceived notion of who I am based off previous things I’ve done, so you got to really break that down and go hard, put in the work, take all the meetings, take all the auditions.”

TheWrap reported earlier this month that the “Shake It Up!” actress had been cast in the upcoming superhero movie.

Tom Holland is set to star as Peter Parker, also known as Spider-Man, in the film directed by Jon Watts. The reboot, which still remains untitled, will hit theaters on July 7, 2017, and is produced by Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige.

Plot points remain under wraps. Holland’s Spider-Man will make an appearance in the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War,” starring Chris Evans.
