2014 Blood List Features Universal’s ‘Bird Box,’ Sony’s Shark Movie ‘Into the Deep’

Founder Kailey Marsh is celebrating the Blood List’s 6-6-6th anniversary with new categories

BL Cover 2014Genre guru Kailey Marsh has unveiled the 2014 Blood List, which names the 13 most liked, unproduced dark genre scripts of the year every Halloween, as voted on by Hollywood executives.
In honor of the Blood List’s sixth anniversary, Marsh has taken a cue from Satan’s favorite number, 666, and added new categories including the Top 6 Books, the Top 6 Pilots and the Top 6 of the New Blood Contest, which is being co-presented by Stage 32.
This year’s “Blood List” was topped by Eric Heisserer’s script “Bird Box,” based on the acclaimed novel by Josh Malerman. Other studio entries include Sony’s shark movie “Into the Deep” by Tony Jaswinski and “The Bringing” by Brandon and Phillip Murphy.
Marsh is a rising manager-producer who compiles the Blood List each year and has seen its profile soar over the last five years. Screenplays recently featured on the Blood List include Barbary Curry’s “The Boy Next Door,” which comes out early next year with Jennifer Lopez starring and Jason Blum producing, as well as “The Disciple Program,” which was acquired by Universal and has awards contender Morten Tyldum (“The Imitation Game”) attached to direct.
