BBC America has set the return for its freshman hit drama “Killing Eve,” and fans of the Sandra Oh-led series better hope they remembered where the series left off.

That’s because, per AMC Entertainment Networks president Sarah Barnett, when the sophomore season premieres Sunday, April 7 at 8 p.m., it will pick up right after the events of the Season 1 finale — 36 seconds after to be exact.

“‘Killing Eve’ is picking up exactly 36 heart-thumping seconds after the events of the season finale,” Barnett said in a statement Thursday. “This new season is packed with superlative performances and is as twisty, subversive, darkly funny, nerve-wracking and pleasurable as our fans could desire.”

Based on the “Villanelle” series of novellas by Luke Jennings, “Killing Eve” stars Oh as former MI5 officer Eve Polastri, and Jodie Comer as Villanelle, the charismatic assassin who Eve is hired to eliminate. Beginning just after the end of the final episode of Season 1, Villanelle has disappeared, and Eve is left reeling, having no idea if the woman she stabbed is alive or dead. With both of them in deep trouble, Eve has to find Villanelle before someone else does … but unfortunately, she’s not the only person looking for her.

Fiona Shaw also stars, with Nina Sosanya and Edward Bluemel set to join the series for Season 2.

“Fleabag” creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge writes and serves as executive producer. Sally Woodward Gentle and Lee Morris executive produce alongside Waller-Bridge, with Oh serving as associate producer. The show is produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd and distributed by Endeavor Content.

“Killing Eve” has been nominated for a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice Award, with Sandra Oh nominated for Emmy, Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice and SAG awards for her performance as Eve, and Jodie Comer nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award for her work as Villanelle.
