“This Is Us” returned to TV after being bumped by Trump last week, and the drama and its host network topped Tuesday’s primetime among adults 18-49.
That said, the Pearson Family’s “live” Nielsen numbers were lower than what its last original posted. Considering it hadn’t aired in three weeks, perhaps some of the regular “This Is Us” audience didn’t even know their favorite show was back.
Led by a huge audience for “NCIS,” CBS won the night in terms of total viewers.
NBC was first in ratings with a 1.4 rating/6 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 6.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Ellen’s Game of Games” at 8 p.m. posted a 1.5/6 and 6 million viewers. “This Is Us” at 9 put up a 1.7/7 and 7.3 million viewers. At 10, “New Amsterdam” received a 1.0/5 and 5.8 million viewers.
CBS was second in ratings with a 1.0/4 and first in viewers with 9.9 million. “NCIS” at 8 landed a 1.3/6 and 13.2 million viewers. At 9, “FBI” had a 1.0/4 and 9.4 million viewers. “NCIS: New Orleans” at 10 got a 0.8/4 and 7.2 million viewers.
ABC was third in ratings with a 0.7/3 and in viewers with 3.4 million. “American Housewife” at 8 had a 0.9/4 and 4.3 million viewers. At 8:30, “The Kids Are Alright” got a a 0.7/3 and 3.2 million viewers. “Black-ish” at 9 received a 0.8/3 and 3.1 million viewers. At 9:30, “Splitting Up Together” closed to comedy block with a 0.6/3 and 2.6 million viewers. “The Rookie” at 10 finished primetime off with a 0.6/3 and 3.6 million viewers.
Fox was fourth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in viewers with 2.4 million. “Lethal Weapon” at 8 had a 0.6/3 and 1.7 million viewers. At 9, “The Gifted” got a 0.5/2 and 1.6 million viewers.
Univision, The CW and Telemundo tied for fifth in ratings, each with a 0.4/2. Univision was fifth in total viewers with 1.5 million, CW was sixth with 1.4 million and Telemundo was seventh with 1.2 million.
For CW, “The Flash” at 8 had a 0.6/3 and 1.7 million viewers. At 9, “Roswell, New Mexico” got a 0.3/1 and 1.1 million viewers.
