Ratings: CBS’ ‘Million Dollar Mile’ Stumbles a Bit in Week 2

A slightly improved “Empire” carries Fox to a first-place tie with NBC

With a somewhat better “Empire” performance than last week, Fox caught up with NBC’s “Chicago” lineup on Wednesday in ratings among adults 18-49.

On CBS, new show “Million Dollar Mile” declined from last week’s debut, effectively keeping that network out of the Nielsen running.

NBC and Fox tied for first in ratings, both with a 1.1 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. NBC was first in total viewers with an average of 7.6 million, according to preliminary numbers. Fox was third with 3.8 million total viewers.

For NBC, “Chicago Med” at 8 p.m. had a 1.0/5 and 7.8 million viewers. “Chicago Fire” at 9 got a 1.1/5 and 8.1 million viewers. “Chicago P.D.” at 10 received a 1.0/5 and 6.9 million viewers.

For Fox, “Empire” at 8 landed a 1.2/6 and 4.1 million viewers. At 9, “Star” closed Fox’s two-hour primetime day part with a 1.0/5 and 3.5 million viewers.

CBS was third in ratings with a 1.0/5 and second in viewers with 4.8 million. “Survivor” at 8 had a 1.5/7 and 7.3 million viewers. At 9, “Million Dollar Mile” got a 0.8/4 and 3.4 million viewers. “SEAL Team” at 10 received a 0.6/3 and 3.7 million viewers.

ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.8/4 and in viewers with 3.6 million. “The Goldbergs” at 8 had a 1.1/6 and 4.4 million viewers. At 8:30, “Schooled” got a 0.8/4 and 3.4 million viewers. “Modern Family” at 9 received a 1.1/5 and 4.3 million viewers. At 9:30, “Single Parents” closed the comedy block with a 0.8/3 and 3.1 million viewers. “Whiskey Cavalier” at 10 closed ABC’s primetime to a 0.6/3 and 3.1 million viewers.

Univision and Telemundo tied for fifth in ratings, both with a 0.4/2. Univision was fifth in total viewers with 1.4 million, Telemundo was sixth with 1.1 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 530,000. Following a rerun, “Jane the Virgin” at 9 managed a 0.2/1 and 595,000 viewers.
