‘Legion’ Final Season Trailer: David Is the ‘Magic Man,’ Lenny Is the Mad Hatter and Everything Gets Weird (Video)

Also, Harry Lloyd makes a blink-and-you-missed-it debut as Professor X

FX released the trailer for the third and final season of its X-Men series “Legion,” and by the looks of it, things are even stranger than its first two seasons.

David Haller (Dan Stevens) is now situated in a remote commune calling himself “The Magic Man,” while his former friends and Summerland, including the Shadow King (Navid Negahban), are plotting to kill him. There’s also a shot of Lenny (Aubrey Plaza) as the Mad Hatter.

For its final season, “Legion” is bringing in its most famous mutants in Charles Xavier, better known as Professor X, the leader of the X-Men. He also happens to be David’s father. Though the identity of Haller’s father was heavily teased as being Xavier (just like in the Marvel comic the series is based on), this will mark the first time it’s 100% confirmed. Stephanie Corneliussen is also coming aboard the final season as David’s mother, Gabrielle Haller.

The trailer shows a brief shot of Harry Lloyd’s fully-haired version of the famous professor using an early version of his legendary Cerebro helmet, which helps him search for other mutants.

“Legion,” a co-production between Marvel Television and 20th Century Fox, will be one of the final X-Men properties to be released under the Fox banner, as those characters now belong to Disney after its $71.3 purchase of 21st Century Fox’s film and TV assets.

The final season of “Legion” will premiere Monday, June 24 on FX at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT
