Disney is already making use of one of the new assets it gained from Fox.

Reruns of “The Simpsons,” which have been exclusive to FXX since 2014, will begin on airing Disney’s cable network Freeform in September. All 30 seasons will be available to Freeform, with a specific premiere date being announced later.

Fellow 20th Century Fox animated comedy “Family Guy” has a similar arrangement — it has been airing on both FXX and Freeform since April. The Seth MacFarlane-animated comedy airs three nights a week on FXX and one night a week on Freeform.

Disney completed its purchase of most of 21st Century Fox’s film and TV assets in March. “The Simpsons” will also be available on Disney’s upcoming streaming service, Disney+, when it launches Nov. 12.

“The Simpsons” is the longest-running scripted series in TV history, surpassing “Gunsmoke” last season. It first debuted in 1989, during George H.W. Bush’s presidency. In February, it was renewed for a 31st and 32nd season at Fox. By the end of the 32nd season, “The Simpsons” will have produced 713 episodes.

“The Simpsons” is a Gracie Films Production in association with 20th Century Fox Television. James L. Brooks, Matt Groening and Al Jean are the executive producers. The series stars Harry Shearer, Dan Castellaneta, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Julie Kavner and Azaria.
