Another Tuesday, another key-demo ratings tie for CBS and NBC. On the plus side for CBS, the “NCIS” home again won primetime in terms of total viewers. To say something positive on NBC’s behalf, “New Amsterdam” was the night’s only season finale to grow its rating among adults 18-49 from the prior week.
The “New Amsterdam” and “NCIS: New Orleans” finales both tacked on additional total viewers compared to the previous Tuesday.
CBS and NBC tied for first in ratings, both with a 0.8 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic. CBS was first in total viewers with an average of 11.5 million, according to preliminary numbers. NBC was second in total viewers with 5.3 million.
For CBS, “NCIS” at 8 p.m. posted a 1.1/5 and 11.5 million viewers. At 9, the “FBI” season finale had a 0.8/3 and 8.5 million viewers. “NCIS: New Orleans” at 10 got a 0.6/3 and 7 million viewers.
For NBC, “The Village” at 8 received a 0.6/3 and 3.8 million viewers. “The Voice” results show at 9 had a 1.0/4 and 6.5 million viewers. At 10, “New Amsterdam” got a 0.9/4 and 5.5 million viewers.
ABC, Fox and Telemundo tied for third in ratings, each with a 0.5/2.
For ABC, “American Housewife” at 8 had a 0.8/4 and 3.7 million viewers. At 8:30, the recently canceled “The Kids Are Alright” managed a 0.6/3 and 2.9 million viewers. At 9, “Black-ish” got a 0.6/3 and 2.8 million viewers. “Bless This Mess” at 9:30 received a 0.6/2 and 2.7 million viewers. At 10, docuseries “1969” settled for a 0.3/2 and 1.8 million viewers.
For Fox, “MasterChef Junior” at 8 had a 0.7/3 and 2.8 million viewers. “Mental Samurai” at 9 got a 0.4/2 and 1.4 million viewers.
The CW was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/2 and in viewers with 1.2 million. “The Flash” season finale at 8 had a 0.5/3 and 1.5 million viewers. “The 100” at 9 got a 0.3/1 and 858,000 viewers.
Univision was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.1 million.
