John Cena Learns How to Pageant Walk on ‘Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader’ (Exclusive Video)

It’s no five-knuckle shuffle, but not bad

Your time is up, his time is now: John Cena may not be wrestling these days, but he’s still able to make quite the entrance.

On his new TV gig as host of Nickelodeon’s revived and revamped “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader,” Cena asks an elementary schooler to teach him to “pageant walk.” Isabella’s got the moves down, as well as the answer to a pretty basic history question.

Full-on grownup Lindsey, on the other hand, has no idea about the Cold War’s origin story.

“Judging by your face, either you don’t know, or you really have to pee,” Cena quips in what appears to be a pretty obvious added voiceover.

Nonetheless, laughter ensues — the magic of television on full display.

Here’s how it this new version of the game show goes, per Nickelodeon:

In an all-new format that places kids in the center of the action, “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader” contestants must revisit the classroom to answer six questions on a variety of subjects from the first through fourth grade, before moving on to the final round where they must race against the clock to answer five questions taken from the fifth grade. Each time the contestants answer questions correctly, their bank increases with a possible winning of $100,000. Newly-added elements to the show include an additional “cheat” option and new ways contestants can enlist the help of their grade-school classmates.

“Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader” is executive produced by MGM’s Mark Burnett and Barry Poznick. For Nickelodeon, production is overseen by Rob Bagshaw, its executive vice president of unscripted content.

The revamped “5th Grader” debuts Monday, June 10 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on Nick.
