Could Dave Chappelle be chasing an EGOT? The comedian is making his Broadway debut this summer with a limited run of shows in July.

“Dave Chappelle Live on Broadway” will feature five shows between July 9-13 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater. It’s unclear if Chappelle is performing a more traditional stand-up set or will mix it up with a different kind of one-man show.

“Dave Chappelle Live on Broadway” is produced by Live Nation, The Araca Group and EBG (Entertainment Benefits Group). No recording devices are allowed during the shows, and all shows are cellphone and camera-free events.

In 2017, Chappelle had a 16-show residency at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, a tour that featured guest appearances by Childish Gambino, Solange, The Roots, Kendrick Lamar and Erykah Badu, among others. He’s also set to receive the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor from the Kennedy Center in October.

The comedian released four stand-up comedy specials on Netflix in 2017, “The Art of Spin,” “Deep in the Heart of Texas,” “Equanimity” and “The Bird Revelations.” In 2018, he won his second Emmy award for Outstanding Variety Special for “Equanimity.”

Tickets for Chappelle’s Broadway shows go on sale via the Ticketmaster Verified Fan presale on June 18, with registration opening today, June 12 at 1 p.m. EST through June 16 at 10 p.m. EST. Tickets then go on sale to the general public on June 21.

Chappelle is repped by Rick Greenstein at The Gersh Agency for live touring.
