‘Lion King’ Cub Donald Glover Goes Full Simba on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ (Video)

“Atlanta” star says he spent all his “30 Rock” money on Gushers

Tuesday marked the big Hollywood premiere of the new “Lion King,” and star Donald Glover showed up to “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” red-carpet ready.

The voice behind Simba guested on the ABC late-night talk show while wearing a snazzy lion onesie. We’re guessing he probably did pull a costume change before heading across the street to the Dolby Theater for the big celebration.

While with Jimmy Kimmel, the “Community” alum and “Atlanta” star talked about his musical future as Childish Gambino. While hitting all those notes, the duo also discussed Glover’s big movie musical number with co-star Beyonce, and that time he met Elton John in Italy.

Glover’s comments about singing with Seth Rogen were a little bit less glamorous.

Later, Glover tells Kimmel that as a “30 Rock” writer during his college days, he spent most of that sweet NBC money on the chewable candy Gushers. No regrets, not ever.

“The Lion King” also features the voices of Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, James Earl Jones, Billy Eichner, Alfre Woodard, Amy Sedaris, John Oliver, Eric Andre. Yeah, it’s a pretty stacked cast.

The movie, which is getting big thumbs up in the early going, roars into theaters nationwide on July 19.
