Taylor Swift Gets Her Claws Out in ‘Cats’ Behind-The-Scenes Look (Video)

Trailer drops Friday for Tom Hooper’s movie adaptation of stage play

In a first look at the movie musical of “Cats,” Taylor Swift gives a feline flavor to her dance moves, taking out her claws and crouches as she’s ready to pounce.

Swift is just one part of a behind-the-scenes look at Tom Hooper’s take on “Cats” that Universal released on Wednesday. While we still haven’t seen what the CGI cats themselves look like, the video promises that a trailer for the movie drops on Friday. James Corden gave a hint of to what to can expect.

“Tom’s pairing them with a level of technology that I don’t think has ever been used before,” Corden said. “These are people and they’re cats, and it’s kind of blowing my mind. There’s nothing else like it.”

“Les Miserables” director Hooper leads the adaptation of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical that stars Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Corden, Swift, Ray Winstone, Jennifer Hudson, Francesca Heyward and Jason Derulo.

In the teaser, Swift said how excited she was to be a part of the movie and praised Hooper’s new take on one of the longest-running plays in Broadway history.

“We got to update it in ways that I think are so, so great,” she said. “I came right off of a stadium tour and came right into rehearsals.”

Universal is releasing the event musical on Dec. 20, 2019.
