The CW’s ‘Burden of Truth’ Finale Is a Ratings Burden

ABC wins Sunday outright

The season finale for CW’s “Burden of Truth” settled for a 0.1 rating/1 share among adults 18-49 on Sunday. Its 612,000 total viewers weren’t much more impressive. ABC won another summer Sunday outright with its “Summer Sunday Fun & Games” lineup. Also, it faced very little very little significant competition. CBS was runner-up thanks to “Big Brother.” The CW finished in last place, behind Telemundo and Univision. ABC was first in ratings with a 0.7 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 4.5 million, according to preliminary numbers. Following a rerun, “Celebrity Family Feud” at 8 p.m. had a 0.9/5 and 5.5 million viewers. At 9, “The $100,000 Pyramid” got a 0.7/4 and 4.7 million viewers. “To Tell the Truth” at 10 received a 0.6/3 and 3.6 million viewers. CBS was second in ratings with a 0.5/3 and in viewers with 4.2 million. At 7, “60 Minutes” had a 0.5/3 and 6.5 million viewers. “Big Brother” at 8 posted a 1.1/6 and 4.4 million viewers. At 9, “Instinct” settled for a 0.3/2 and 3.3 million viewers. A Season 1 episode of CBS All Access series “The Good Fight” followed, which managed a 0.2/1 and 2.8 million viewers. NBC was third in ratings with a 0.4/2 and in viewers with 2.3 million, airing all repeats. Fox and Telemundo tied for fourth in ratings, both with a 0.3/2. Fox was fourth in total viewers with 1 million, Telemundo was fifth with 884,000. For Fox, following reruns, “What Just Happened??!” at 9:30 got a 0.2/1 and 715,000 viewers. Univision was sixth in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 696,000. The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.1/1 and in viewers with 578,000. “Burden of Truth” aired at 8, a “Pandora” repeat followed.
