Sean Hayes Named Roast Master for the ‘Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin’ (Video)

And he’s already got a pretty good joke

Sean Hayes has been named Roast Master for the “Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin,” which will tape on Sept. 7 and premiere eight days later.

“It’s always been my dream to roast a Hollywood legend, so when they asked me to roast Alec Baldwin I said ‘close enough’,” Hayes said.

Past roastees have included Justin Bieber, James Franco, Donald Trump, Rob Lowe, Bruce Willis, Charlie Sheen, David Hasselhoff and others. You can watch a short teaser video above of Baldwin preparing to be razzed.

Baldwin has had a long acting career dating back to the early 1980s, with films under his belt including “The Departed,” “It’s Complicated,” “The Boss Baby,” and television roles including Jack Donaghy on “30 Rock” and Malcolm Widmark on “Will & Grace” — a sitcom his Roast Master also starred in. Hayes’ film and television credits also include “The Millers,” “The Cat in the Hat,” “Smash” and “Tangled: The Series,” among others.

Baldwin and Comedy Central will also go halfsies on a $1 million donation to Exploring the Arts, a nonprofit organization that serves public high schools throughout New York City and Los Angeles.

The “Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin” will be executive produced by Joel Gallen from Tenth Planet Productions. Christian McLaughlin is the executive in charge of production, and Jordan Ellner is the talent producer for Comedy Central.

“Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin” will air Sunday, Sept. 15 at 10/9c.
