‘Morning Joe’ Suggests Nikki Haley Is Angling for VP With Trump Praise, Advises Mike Pence to ‘Duck’

Haley praised Trump in a Tuesday interview with Savannah Guthrie

The hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” think former ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley is gunning for Vice President Mike Pence’s job — and President Donald Trump is going to give it to her.

On Tuesday morning, “Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski played a clip of Haley promoting her book on sister network NBC, where she told “Today” host Savannah Guthrie she never doubted Trump’s mental acuity and always found him “truthful.”

“I have one word for Mike Pence,” Joe Scarborough said when the clip concluded. “My friend, duck.”

“Nikki Haley, unless she wanted the job, would not so besmirch her own reputation,” he continued.

The “Today” interview had a similar impact on Twitter, where people had a lot to say about Guthrie’s interview.

“Wish @SavannahGuthrie could channel some of those tough, angry questions she had for @NikkiHaley towards her own @nbc management who are still there despite the cover ups and fallout from Matt Lauer and Weinstein,” wrote Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean.

“Today Show co-anchor @SavannahGuthrie is trending nationally because half the people are slamming her for being rude to @NikkiHaley and the other half think she’s doing a great job grilling Ambassador Haley,” noted journalist Yashar Ali.
