Pixar’s ‘Onward’: Chris Pratt and Tom Holland’s Teenage Elves Go on an Epic Quest in New Trailer (Video)

Animated adventure opens in theaters March 6

Tom Holland and Chris Pratt voice blue teenage elves who embark on an epic quest in the first trailer for Disney-Pixar’s new animated film “Onward.”

The film, set in a suburban fantasy world crawling with dragons and flying unicorns, features Holland as a just-turned-16-year-old elf named Ian Lightfoot who uses a magic wizard’s staff to bring back the bottom half of his late father — and then sets out an adventure with his brother, Barley, to redo the spell and bring back the rest of him.

In addition to Pratt and Holland, the voice cast includes Mel Rodriguez, who voices Officer Colt Bronco; Lena Waithe, who lends her voice to Officer Specter; and Ali Wong, the voice of Officer Gore. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer also lend their voices to the project.

Dan Scanlon, who directed “Monsters University,” is directing and writing “Onward.”

“Onward,” which opens in U.S. theaters on March 6, 2020, is the first of two Pixar movies opening in 2020, the other being “Soul” opening next summer.
