A24 has acquired the U.S. rights to the horror thriller “Green Room,” starring Patrick Stewart and Anton Yelchin, TheWrap has learned.
Imogen Poots, Alia Shawkat and Mark Webber are a few of the other cast members of the film.
Poots and Shawkat play members of a punk band who find themselves trapped in an isolated Oregon club after a gig when they witness an act of violence involving a group of neo-Nazi skinheads led by Stewart’s character.
A24 is planning a spring 2016 release of the film, which premiered at Cannes Film Festival in May and will be shown at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
Jeremy Saulnier wrote and directed the film, with Neil Kopp, Victor Moyers and Anish Savjani producing. Broad Green Pictures and filmscience produced the thriller.
Christoper Tricarico, EVP of Business and Legal Affairs, General Counsel at Broad Green brokered the deal.
