ABC Delays Return of ‘FlashForward’

Move allows sci-fi drama to run all new episodes to end of season, avoids “Idol” competition

ABC has again delayed the return of its sci-fi drama “FlashForward,” pushing it from the previously reported March 4 to Thursday, March 18, at 8 p.m.

This allows the network to air original episodes of the hourlong series through the end of the broadcast season.

The move also shifts "Flash Forward" out of the way of Fox’s "American Idol" juggernaut, which has episodes scheduled to air on two Thursdays, March 4 and March 11.

“FlashForward” stars Joseph Fiennes, John Cho, Jack Davenport, Sonya Walger, Dominic Monaghan, Zachary Knighton, Peyton List, Brían F. O’Byrne, Courtney B. Vance and Christine Woods. It’s an ABC Studios production from executive producers David S. Goyer, Brannon Braga and Jessika Borsiczky.
