Affluent viewers are all about ABC.

According to figures released by Nielsen, the network’s non-sports programming is incredibly popular in wealthier households.

Among those in the advertiser coveted adults 18-49 demographic in homes with $100,00 or more in annual income, ABC ranks number one with a 3.0 rating this season so far in most-current ratings — live viewing plus seven days of playback in addition to live-plus-same day ratings for the most recent weeks.

That gives the network a double-digit lead over its nearest competitor in the category, NBC, which is averaging a 2.7, for a difference of 14 percent. CBS is third with a 2.3, 30 percent below ABC. Fox is fourth with a 1.79, 69 percent below ABC.

ABC airs 10 of the top 20 highest-rated broadcast entertainment series among young adults in the income bracket, including six of the top 10. “Modern Family,” “Scandal,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “How to Get Away with Murder” all placed in the top 10.

ABC was also on top in the adults 18-49 demographic in homes with $200,000 or more in annual income. ABC is averaging a 2.84 in the category, 15 percent ahead of NBC with a 2.48, 39 percent of CBS with a 2.0, and 79 percent ahead of Fox with a 1.59.

In addition, the network also boasts four of the top 5 shows in the category, which are: “Modern Family,” “Black-ish,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “Scandal.”
