ABC Family has given series orders to two new scripted dramas, the network announced Thursday.
“Guilt” and “Beyond” join the recently announced Season 5 renewal for “Switched at Birth,” Season 2 renewal for “Monica the Medium” and pilot order for drama “Famous in Love.”
All of the pickups follow the networks announcement last month that it would be rebranding itself as Freeform in January 2016.
“Guilt” stars Daisy Head as Grace, a young American woman in London who becomes the prime suspect in the savage murder of her roommate.
The series is written, created and executive-produced by Kathryn Price and Nichole Millard. Stephen McPherson will serve as executive producer for the co-production between Sea to Sky Entertainment (the joint venture between Lionsgate Television and Thunderbird Films) and BV Family Productions in association with ABC Family. Gary Fleder (“Kingdom,” “Scorpion”) directed the pilot.
“Beyond” stars Burkely Duffield as Holden, a young man who wakes up from a coma after 12 years and discovers new supernatural abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy.
From Imperative Entertainment and Automatik, “Beyond” is created, written and executive produced by Adam Nussdorf. Tim Kring, Zak Kadison, Justin Levy and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones will serve as executive producers. Lee Toland Krieger (“The Age of Adaline”) directed the pilot.
