Em Nguyen joined ABC News this week as a multi-platform reporter. She will be stationed in Washington, D.C., where she already serves as the vice president of digital media for the Asian American Journalists Association’s local chapter.

Nguyen came to ABC News from Spectrum News, where she served as a national correspondent and covered the 2020 election and, specifically, Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential run and eventual vice presidential win.

ABC News vice president and Washington bureau chief Jonathan Greenberger sent a note to staffers Tuesday welcoming Nguyen to the team. In it, he highlighted her work profiling Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff and covering the impact of COVID-19 on the nation’s capital, as well as her reporting from El Salvador on immigration during the previous administratin.

“Em is a skilled reporter and storyteller who will be a fantastic addition to our talented Washington team,” he said.

Nguyen left Spectrum News at the beginning of October, but did not say at the time where she was headed.

In addition to its television and digital output, ABC News also operates ABC News Live, a streaming service with a 24/7 live stream of the news. The service also features its own in-depth reporting.
