An episode of “The View” featuring guest co-host Kelly Osbourne making a comment offensive to Latinos has been pulled from ABC.com and streaming service Hulu, TheWrap has learned.
Hulu confirmed the Osbourne episode is not currently available, and deferred TheWrap to ABC for further comment. ABC has not yet returned a request for comment.
Both Hulu and ABC.com list every episode “The View” aired this week except for the Tuesday August 4 installment — in which Osbourne challenged presidential candidate Donald Trump on his opinions about immigrants saying,”if you kick every Latino out of this country, who is going to be cleaning your toilet?”
As a content provider to Hulu, ABC would retain the right to pull its programming. The streaming service did not immediately respond when asked about precedent of a major network pulling controversial material.
During the show Osbourne’s statement about domestic service was met with an awkward groan from panelist Raven-Symone before her colleague Rosie Perez said, “Latinos are not the only people doing that.”
Osbourne backpedaled in the moment, which was a Hot Topics discussion on Trump’s claims he would win the Latino vote despite calling Mexican immigrants “rapists” during his campaign announcement speech.
“The point she was actually trying to make is that Donald Trump’s stance on immigration would only end up hurting the people that Donald Trump is counting on,” Goldberg said, adding “you sometimes step in dog doo.”
Others found Osbourne’s remarks unintelligent, like comedian W. Kamau Bell.
“There’s a fine line between racism and dumb,” Bell said during an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon, after grimacing through tape of Osbourne implying that Latino immigrants are the only people working low-wage jobs. “But that doesn’t mean the comment wasn’t racist. Because you can be racist and dumb.”
As you can’t see the Tuesday action from ‘The View” unfold on ABC.com or Hulu, watch it at TheWrap.
